Basic scientific looks to interpretation of the government procurement are considered and the own position is offered for their explanation. Principles of functioning of the government procurement are exposed and their role in socio-economic development of the state is indicated. An author look to the problem of evaluation of efficiency of the government procurement is expounded and his advantages are indicated.
